In the 9th minute Yves Dervaux shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higinio Aguilera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Indiana Jones in the 11th minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Indiana Jones in the 12thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Casper Claes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jyrki Sillanpää got free with Casper Claes in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Higinio Aguilera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 17th minute of play. In the 17th minute Edward Vanderstraeten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higinio Aguilera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Casper Claes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Indiana Jones, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Edward Vanderstraeten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Higinio Aguilera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. After 24 played minutes Belgium got a freekick which was hit by Yves Dervaux. Feliciano Haritzeder could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Casper Claes made a huge save. Casper Claes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Indiana Jones, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Indiana Jones struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Casper Claes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Hijos de Doña Beija. Higinio Aguilera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yves Dervaux in the 43rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Los Hijos de Doña Beija defense, Edward Vanderstraeten kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Higinio Aguilera. The Los Hijos de Doña Beija fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Higinio Aguilera should have stopped the shot. The Los Hijos de Doña Beija players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Belgium were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edward Vanderstraeten was the one to do the kick off. Higinio Aguilera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 54th minute of play. Casper Claes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jyrki Sillanpää, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Belgium's Casper Claes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jyrki Sillanpää in the 55th minute of play. Lenny Clocheret kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. 72 minutes into the match, Los Hijos de Doña Beija's goalkeeper Higinio Aguilera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yves Dervaux. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Adan Inge was substituted for Alcides Baros. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adan Inge in the 77th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adan Inge in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Casper Claes saved Belgium from getting behind. In the 84thth minute of the game Adan Inge who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Belgium's Casper Claes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Indiana Jones came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Los Hijos de Doña Beija fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Indiana Jones couldn't finish the play. A throw-in in the 88th minute of the game was made by Abelardo Domenec with Albino Brion as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 94th minute Los Hijos de Doña Beija were awarded a corner. Osman Ali Okutan went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Osman Ali Okutan got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Casper Claes quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When the match was over Belgium could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Los Hijos de Doña Beija throughout the match.
