The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Kölner Sportverein's Folke Johannsen got a free kick in the 2nd minute. 4 minutes into the game, Valdemarsvik FF's Esbjörn Olofsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carl Bauriegel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 7th minute Jens-Åke Blom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carl Bauriegel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marco Kau made a kick off. Olle Törnblom could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Carl Bauriegel made a huge save. The supporters of Valdemarsvik FF booed when Kölner Sportverein was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Folke Johannsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Kölner Sportverein fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Christoffer Lind hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Kurt Rose was slow to take the kick. During this time Kölner Sportverein's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Kölner Sportverein's Kurt Rose to fire away a dangerous shot which Jimmie Haeger despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Carl Bauriegel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Esbjörn Olofsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Kölner Sportverein's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
