Fabiofs's Walmyr Correia quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Fabiofs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldinho Molski didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gust Ennemans to maneuver through the defense. Alexander Hegg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 47th minute, Joãozinho Trints hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

52 minutes into the match, Fabiofs's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Alexander Hegg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexander Hegg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabiofs's defense didn't have a chance, in the 88th minute, when Gijsbert ter Kruimer scored to the left of an out of position Alexander Hegg, making the score, 0-3. After 91 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Gijsbert ter Kruimer. Fabiofs's Daniel Regis got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
