With a little luck, Denmark's Keld Paulsen got control of the ball when Ariel Ortega tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ariel Ortega received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Keld Paulsen came out and tried to block the shot, but Ariel Ortega slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 3rd minute. In the 6th play minute Ariel Ortega came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Keld Paulsen. 2-0. Mathias Ludvigsen kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. In the 11th minute Bertram Svenningsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anıl Mücahit Efe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Denmark's attentive Theis Winther managed to snatch the ball when Lefter Tanın made a throw-in in the 16th minute of the game. The supporters of Erzincan FK booed when Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mikkel Wulff didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Nygaard in the 25th minute of play forced Erzincan FK's goalkeeper Anıl Mücahit Efe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Erzincan FK's Ariel Ortega sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Keld Paulsen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mauro Icardi struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Keld Paulsen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Erzincan FK. Ariel Ortega was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 38th minute. Erzincan FK's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Keld Paulsen came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Erzincan FK's Ariel Ortega. But to his dismay, Ariel Ortega quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. In the 46th match minute, Erzincan FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rıdvan Yılmaz to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Chris Nygaard made the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute, Ariel Ortega made a precise shot to the right of Keld Paulsen. Denmark's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. Keld Paulsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ariel Ortega, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 58 minutes into the game, Erzincan FK's Mauro Icardi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Keld Paulsen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. Anıl Mücahit Efe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chris Nygaard in the 62nd minute of play. In the 65th minute, Ariel Ortega ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Keld Paulsen was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Denmark's goalkeeper Keld Paulsen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match clock showed 84 minutes, the score became 8-0 when Ariel Ortega sped through Denmark's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Keld Paulsen. The audience was convinced that Ariel Ortega's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Keld Paulsen was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Erzincan FK had won after a very even match.
