In the 43rd match minute, Varennes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurice Odonnell to maneuver through the defense. Wendell Petit received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Zaher Baroun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Taqi Taqi was the one to do the kick off. Zaher Baroun came out of the goal and Maurice Odonnell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Maurice Odonnell put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Zaher Baroun. Varennes made a substitution. Hong Mosher replaced Ward Houde. Varennes's Titus Pineda was substituted for Bernardo Goudreau. Saudi Arabia's Zaher Baroun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurice Odonnell in the 67th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Saudi Arabia's Edrees Al Youha got a free kick in the 72nd minute. The supporters of Varennes booed when Saudi Arabia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dhari Al Ghanem didn't get a good kick on the ball. Taqi Taqi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 83 minutes into the match, Varennes's goal looked a bit too open when Rajab Al Sohali came free, but Gilberto Boone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Saudi Arabia defense, Maurice Odonnell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zaher Baroun. The Saudi Arabia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zaher Baroun should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Varennes booed when Saudi Arabia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarah Al Ammar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erwin Gay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Omar Al Asuosi hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. After 95 played minutes Varennes got a freekick which was hit by Wendell Petit. Varennes's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
