In the 7th minute Major Barna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cecilio Jax saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ivan Copil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fodor Daniel having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Major Barna in the 16th minute of play forced San Martin de Tucuman's goalkeeper Cecilio Jax to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cecilio Jax showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antal Valentin, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After a rather tough play, Hungary's Bakos Endre got a free kick in the 20th minute. Ivan Copil came free with the goalkeeper in the 26th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Fodor Daniel could save by the left post. With his leg Fodor Daniel managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when San Martin de Tucuman's Ivan Copil fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, San Martin de Tucuman's Petr Schejbal got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 35th match minute, Hungary was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bakos Endre to maneuver through the defense. Cecilio Jax took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hegedus Henrik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ivan Copil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hegedus Henrik in the 42nd minute of play forced San Martin de Tucuman's goalkeeper Cecilio Jax to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulino Lamberto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fodor Daniel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th minute Ivan Copil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Antal Valentin made a kick off. Ivan Copil blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fodor Daniel having to make a save. Cecilio Jax showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Major Barna in the 55th minute of the match. In the 59th minute Paulino Lamberto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ivan Copil in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fodor Daniel saved Hungary from getting behind. If Ivan Copil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cecilio Jax made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Antal Valentin sent off a good shot on target. Antal Valentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cecilio Jax having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, San Martin de Tucuman's goalkeeper Cecilio Jax had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antal Valentin. 74 minutes into the game, Hungary's Balazs Lajos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cecilio Jax made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 81st minute Takacs Tibor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cecilio Jax saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When San Martin de Tucuman's Ivan Copil in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Cecilio Jax didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hungary. The San Martin de Tucuman support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
