Belgium's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Natko Gajski ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Florijan Posinjak almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Belgium's Casper Claes did a great save. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by Belgium's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Natko Gajski was slow to take the kick. During this time NK BRONZIN's players had a chance to rest. The corner led NK BRONZIN's Natko Gajski to fire away a dangerous shot which Casper Claes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Ahmet Gündüz Acaralp kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Casper Claes. That made the score 1-0 in the 40 minute of play. Lenny Clocheret's late challenge caught a NK BRONZIN's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lenny Clocheret helped the player get up and apologised. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edward Vanderstraeten stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
