Italy's supporters rose to their feet, but Siricio Liotta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Farid Mondragon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Levan Dost to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Levan Dost in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Flavio Vittori saved Italy from getting behind. In the 52nd minute 1stanbuL FootbaLL CluB were awarded a corner. Levan Dost went to the cornerflag to take it. 55 minutes into the match, 1stanbuL FootbaLL CluB's goalkeeper Farid Mondragon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sigfrido Auletta. 1stanbuL FootbaLL CluB's Farid Mondragon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save 1stanbuL FootbaLL CluB from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 64th minute of play forced 1stanbuL FootbaLL CluB's goalkeeper Farid Mondragon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by 1stanbuL FootbaLL CluB's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. In the 92nd minute Adriano Curto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Farid Mondragon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led Italy's Adriano Curto to fire away a dangerous shot which Farid Mondragon despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Italy's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
