The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodolfo Nunes got free with Tommy Kahn in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Frank Sachs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Germany's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank Sachs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Gustavo Custódio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diogo Pimenta in the 30th minute of play. The supporters of Germany booed when Excelência de Luxe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antônio Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 35 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Dreifuss. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Excelência de Luxe's Luís Gustavo Custódio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Sachs in the 40th minute of play. Diogo Pimenta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Kahn having to interfere. In the 45th minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Gustavo Custódio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Gustavo Custódio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albin Holweck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Diogo Pimenta was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Adrian Dreifuss hit a great ball. In the 54th minute of the match Bernardo Fonseca shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tommy Kahn showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diogo Pimenta, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Frank Sachs struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Luís Gustavo Custódio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Germany. If Albin Holweck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Rodolfo Nunes came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Excelência de Luxe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodolfo Nunes couldn't finish the play. Luan Oliveira's late challenge caught a Germany's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luan Oliveira helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Excelência de Luxe's Luan Oliveira got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Eliézer Cavalcante kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. In the 96th minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Gustavo Custódio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
