The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 14 minutes into the match, Belgrano de Pibasog's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Bernardo Raggio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Belgrano de Pibasog defense, Zaccheo Andolina kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernardo Raggio. The Belgrano de Pibasog fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernardo Raggio should have stopped the shot. In the 24th minute, Silvio Abadia made a precise shot to the right of Flavio Vittori. Italy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Porziano Marchitelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Raggio having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Siricio Liotta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Italy's supporters rose to their feet, but Siricio Liotta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardo Raggio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bernardo Raggio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 39th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Belgrano de Pibasog's Erasmo Jaunzuria got a free kick in the 39th minute. Porziano Marchitelli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Belgrano de Pibasog's Judas Verón slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Flavio Vittori. That made the score 3-2 after 43 minutes of play. Judas Verón struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Flavio Vittori didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Belgrano de Pibasog.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Judas Verón stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Silvio Abadia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flavio Vittori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvio Abadia, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Belgrano de Pibasog's Judas Verón got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Belgrano de Pibasog's zone, Zaccheo Andolina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardo Raggio came out of the goal and Zaccheo Andolina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Belgrano de Pibasog made a substitution. Rene Santana replaced Blue Dolar. Belgrano de Pibasog's Bernardo Raggio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 68th minute of play. Bernardo Raggio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sigfrido Auletta in the 73rd minute of the match. Belgrano de Pibasog made a substitution. Iulian Ilinca replaced Judas Verón. Clemente Gaizkine got a throw-in 77 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Silvio Abadia. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Iulian Ilinca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Belgrano de Pibasog's supporters rose to their feet, but Iulian Ilinca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 90th minute, Italy's Adriano Curto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bernardo Raggio. Bernardo Raggio yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-3. Clemente Gaizkine made in the 94th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Italy's Eliseo Cutri. Despite being the better team, Italy failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
