Antônio Carlos Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amauri Veloso in the 10th minute of the match. Thomás Arantes was a little too slow when Ronaldo Pirani got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 12th minute. The score was now 2-0. When Pau Lin-Carlos came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Palestra do Interior fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pau Lin-Carlos couldn't finish the play. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dida Arósio in the 24th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Nelson Xavier kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Thomás Arantes. That made the score 3-0 in the 26 minute of play. After a rather tough play, 丅卂从卂-乇リ 下.匚's Matías Hermes got a free kick in the 30th minute. Thomás Arantes acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 30th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ronaldo Pirani. In the 32nd minute of the match Ezequiel de Souza shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thomás Arantes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Zé Orella sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Palestra do Interior's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mauro Arósio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dênis Vander was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Palestra do Interior booed when 丅卂从卂-乇リ 下.匚 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramiro Lopez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 52nd minute Dênis Vander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomás Arantes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 丅卂从卂-乇リ 下.匚's Thomás Arantes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dênis Vander in the 58th minute of play. Ronaldo Pirani recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldo Pirani in the 61st minute of play forced 丅卂从卂-乇リ 下.匚's goalkeeper Thomás Arantes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thomás Arantes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dênis Vander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dênis Vander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Thomás Arantes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65th minute Ronaldo Pirani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomás Arantes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 67th minute of the match Ronaldo Pirani shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thomás Arantes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 69th minute, Ronaldo Pirani left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Enrique de Queiroz's late challenge caught a Palestra do Interior's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Enrique de Queiroz helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to 丅卂从卂-乇リ 下.匚 getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Enrique de Queiroz hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Ronaldo Pirani managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palestra do Interior's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldo Pirani was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomás Arantes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zé Orella hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Dida Arósio's late challenge caught a Palestra do Interior's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dida Arósio didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Palestra do Interior had won after a very even match.
