In the 18th minute, Galáctico Azul FC™'s Gaspar Magdaleno dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. 22 minutes into the match, Galáctico Azul FC™'s goal looked a bit too open when Zé Orella came free, but Enrique Belasko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ezequiel de Souza charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gaspar Magdaleno got free with Antônio Carlos Cavalcante in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Ronaldo Pirani made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th match minute, Galáctico Azul FC™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Xabel to maneuver through the defense. If Generoso Michael had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 60 minutes of play Palestra do Interior's Ronaldo Pirani was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 60th minute, Ronaldo Pirani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zé Orella sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Palestra do Interior's Antônio Carlos Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Casimiro Ellande in the 77th minute of play. Enrique Belasko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelson Xavier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Generoso Michael blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Antônio Carlos Cavalcante having to make a save. When the match clock showed 82 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Eulalio Vincent sped through Palestra do Interior's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Antônio Carlos Cavalcante. After having played for 86 minutes, Zé Orella managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palestra do Interior's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Orella was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
