In the 8th match minute, Monte Hermoso Beach was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erasmo Rodriguez to maneuver through the defense. In the 10th minute Erubiel Bilintx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvaldo Leal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Artur Branco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SORRISO E. C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Monte Hermoso Beach the free kick. After 12 played minutes SORRISO E. C. got a freekick which was hit by Artur Branco. In the 12th minute of the match Lisandro Hodei shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edvaldo Leal showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Monte Hermoso Beach getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Erasmo Rodriguez hit a great ball. Erubiel Bilintx sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SORRISO E. C.'s Edvaldo Leal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximo Lico in the 27th minute of play. Maximo Lico might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edvaldo Leal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maximo Lico ran back to his position shaking his head. Through an outstanding action, after 31 minutes, Fidel Lorien successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Maximo Lico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 33 minutes, Jairo Madureira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SORRISO E. C. and the Monte Hermoso Beach players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lisandro Hodei took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Edvaldo Leal. SORRISO E. C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Monte Hermoso Beach's Erubiel Bilintx got a free kick in the 36th minute. When Maximo Lico fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Monte Hermoso Beach's protests and gave Maximo Lico a yellow card for diving instead. 39 minutes into the match, Monte Hermoso Beach's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio Faria came free, but Fidel Lorien reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fidel Lorien showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Faria, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. SORRISO E. C.'s Edvaldo Leal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin Arotza in the 42nd minute of play. Monte Hermoso Beach's Erubiel Bilintx got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edvaldo Leal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximo Lico in the 47th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Monte Hermoso Beach's Erasmo Rodriguez got a free kick in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Edvaldo Leal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benjamin Arotza in the 52nd minute. Fidel Lorien took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jairo Madureira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Honorio Arias's late challenge caught a SORRISO E. C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Honorio Arias helped the player get up and apologised. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Artur Branco in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fidel Lorien saved Monte Hermoso Beach from getting behind. When the match clock showed 71 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Maximo Lico sped through SORRISO E. C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Edvaldo Leal. Fidel Lorien showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Faria, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Monte Hermoso Beach's Fidel Lorien played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júlio Faria in the 76th minute of play. 78 minutes into the game, Reginaldo de Brito was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fidel Lorien dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Artur Branco scored 2-2 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fidel Lorien, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joaquim Queirós during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A hard shot by Lisandro Hodei from long distance, 94 minutes into the match, got Edvaldo Leal's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The supporters of Monte Hermoso Beach booed when SORRISO E. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jairo Madureira didn't get a good kick on the ball. SORRISO E. C. were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
