In the 7th match minute, Palestra do Interior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christiano Palmeira to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mário Sérgio in the 8th minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Cavalcante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelsinho Marinho in the 12th minute of play forced Grêmio RK75's goalkeeper Bebeto Paranaense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nelsinho Marinho scored 1-0 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bebeto Paranaense, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Grêmio RK75's Oséas Guimarães got a free kick in the 25th minute. Grêmio RK75's Bebeto Paranaense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Grêmio RK75 from getting a goal against them. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mário Sérgio went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Bebeto Paranaense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldo Pirani in the 45th minute of the match. Bebeto Paranaense came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Palestra do Interior's Sérgio Cruz. But to his dismay, Sérgio Cruz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Léo Paranaense was the one to do the kick off. Ronaldo Pirani scored 3-1 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bebeto Paranaense, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 60 minutes, Sérgio Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palestra do Interior's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sérgio Cruz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 72nd minute of the match Grêmio RK75 got a corner. Palestra do Interior's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mário Sérgio ran over to the corner to take the kick. A very nice done corner allowed Denílson Ferreira to score against Antônio Carlos Cavalcante in Palestra do Interior's goal. 3-3 after 72 minutes. Grêmio RK75's Bebeto Paranaense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelsinho Marinho in the 76th minute of play. Bebeto Paranaense came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Palestra do Interior's Nelsinho Marinho. But to his dismay, Nelsinho Marinho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-4. Bebeto Paranaense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nelsinho Marinho in the 87th minute of the match. Bebeto Paranaense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelsinho Marinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
