Tommy Kahn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mai Zhan Shu's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Mai Zhan Shu in the 10thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tommy Kahn, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Mai Zhan Shu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tommy Kahn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Wang Chen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tommy Kahn having to make a save. Wang Chen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. Tommy Kahn was out of position in the 34 minute of play, and Mai Zhan Shu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mai Zhan Shu really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. 42 minutes had been played when some careless play by Germany's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner.
