With a left leg Fodor Daniel saved Hungary from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Doru Lițu put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Fodor Daniel. 13 minutes into the game, Doru Lițu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fodor Daniel. Doru Lițu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Doru Lițu got free with Fodor Daniel in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fodor Daniel made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Doru Lițu sent off a good shot on target. 17 minutes into the game, Hungary's Antal Valentin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Takis Koutsos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. A collision led to The Beatles getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Doru Lițu hit a great ball. Reinaldo Trancoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Fodor Daniel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Takis Koutsos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Takacs Tibor in the 26th minute of the match. Fodor Daniel made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Doru Lițu sent off a good shot on target. Reinaldo Trancoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fodor Daniel having to interfere. After 34 minutes of play, Hungary's Takacs Tibor made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Takis Koutsos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Antal Valentin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fodor Daniel made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Doru Lițu sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 47 minutes, Major Barna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hungary's supporters crossed their fingers, but Major Barna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Takacs Tibor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Takis Koutsos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Takacs Tibor in the 51st minute of play. In the 56th minute Róbson Simões shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antal Valentin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Takis Koutsos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Hungary's Boros Benedek got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 64thth minute of the game Doru Lițu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hungary's Fodor Daniel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Major Barna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 68th minute Doru Lițu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antal Valentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Takis Koutsos having to interfere. When The Beatles's Doru Lițu in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hungary's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doru Lițu in the 82nd minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hungary's Fodor Daniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doru Lițu in the 85th minute of play. In the 88th minute Hungary were awarded a corner. Antal Valentin went to the cornerflag to take it. Hungary's Antal Valentin was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 92nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After 94 minutes, Katona Janos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hungary and the The Beatles players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 95th match minute, Hungary was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Katona Janos to maneuver through the defense. Hungary played a much better game than The Beatles and deserved their victory. The The Beatles players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
