An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Barreto in the 13th minute of play forced Atletico Sweds's goalkeeper Stor Norling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. King Køng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Amorim having to interfere. Stor Norling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After 22 minutes Atletico Sweds's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Felipe Barreto who took care of the corner kick. Graciano Coutinho made a great header on Portugal's corner, it was just that Atletico Sweds's Stor Norling managed to reach the ball for a save. 24 minutes into the game, Håkan Galle lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niclas Petersson in the 28th minute of play. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aleksander Naredi in the 36th minute of play. Portugal's Felipe Barreto got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Stor Norling made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caetano Moreira in the 47th minute of play. The Portugal fans' excitement grew in the 47th match minute when Portugal's Viriato Moura looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. King Køng was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Atletico Sweds's goalkeeper Stor Norling, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 56 minutes into the match, Felipe Barreto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stor Norling. Atletico Sweds's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felipe Barreto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. In the 65th minute, Felipe Barreto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 67 minutes into the game, Viriato Moura recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Stor Norling. Viriato Moura showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. Portugal made a substitution. Felipinho Amorim replaced Felipe Barreto. Atletico Sweds made a substitution. Wilhelm Sahlberg replaced Aleksander Naredi. In the 77th minute King Køng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Atletico Sweds's Ulrik Jansson got a free kick in the 77th minute. After some careless play in the Portugal defense, Håkan Galle kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. The Portugal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilson Amorim should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Håkan Galle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atletico Sweds's supporters rose to their feet, but Håkan Galle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Portugal's zone, King Køng stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal and King Køng tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Håkan Galle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from King Køng in the 94th minute of play. After 97 minutes of play, Atletico Sweds's Håkan Galle made it 4-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilson Amorim was left in no man's land by his defense there! Atletico Sweds's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
