Yeşilköyspor's Acun Tandan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 20th minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Shao Shu Chao. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Yeşilköyspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emilio Castulo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Netherlands fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnout Reekers should have stopped the shot. 36 minutes into the match, Yeşilköyspor's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Acun Tandan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 38 minutes into the game, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Acun Tandan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

Yeşilköyspor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Netherlands the free kick. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bahadırhan Önateş in the 64th minute of play. Acun Tandan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wim Wilmes in the 75th minute. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after Yeşilköyspor's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bahadırhan Önateş in the 78th minute of play. In the 83rd minute Atalan Temizel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Egbert Nijveldt kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Bahadırhan Önateş sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luo Ke Xiang in the 93rd minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Netherlands eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
