An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 4th minute of play forced Nahitantino's goalkeeper Sergio Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute, Angelino Che hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sergio Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 26th minute of play. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 27th minute. The corner led Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer to fire away a dangerous shot which Sergio Romero despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Nahitantino's goalkeeper Sergio Romero, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heintje Passos in the 35th minute of play. Sergio Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 40th minute of play. Bas Tuitert hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Celso Isadore sent off a good shot on target. In the 48th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wim Wilmes to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Heintje Passos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Nahitantino's goalkeeper Sergio Romero had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David Eikelkamp. The crowd rose to their feet as Netherlands's David Eikelkamp slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sergio Romero. That made the score 0-1 after 52 minutes of play. 55 minutes into the game, Nahitantino's Radomir Fudalej nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arnout Reekers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 58 minutes into the game, Celso Isadore cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Arnout Reekers was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Nahitantino was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eleuterio Froylan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lars Meesters recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radomir Fudalej in the 66th minute of play. Celso Isadore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnout Reekers having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Netherlands's Sergio Romero threw himself towards the right post 74 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Sergio Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 75th minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Nahitantino's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Sergio Romero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Nahitantino's Sergio Romero got control of the ball when Wim Wilmes tried to sneak it across the goal line. With an all-out effort, Netherlands's Sergio Romero threw himself towards the right post 83 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Raphael Berger kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Nahitantino made a substitution. Generoso Rivero replaced Celso Isadore. Nahitantino made a substitution. Esteban Salvator replaced Heintje Passos. 87 minutes had been played when some careless play by Nahitantino's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. In the 90th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 94 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Esteban Salvator in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnout Reekers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. For all the effort they put into the match, the Netherlands players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Nahitantino.
