In the 7thth minute of the game Pedrão de Amorim who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Netherlands's Arnout Reekers was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 12th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Erik Larsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, SoS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Karl-Erik Larsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pedrão de Amorim in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnout Reekers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Meesters in the 19th minute of play forced SoS FC's goalkeeper Karl-Erik Larsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Erik Larsson having to interfere. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedrão de Amorim stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Karl-Erik Larsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, SoS FC's goalkeeper Karl-Erik Larsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tommy Boylin, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 66th minute, Bas Tuitert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SoS FC made a substitution. Stig Beckman replaced Run Run. SoS FC's Bernt Lundqvist was substituted for Mårten Majman. In the 67th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bas Tuitert to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Netherlands's zone, Christer Bratt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal and Christer Bratt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tommy Boylin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, Netherlands's Karl-Erik Larsson threw himself towards the right post 74 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lars Meesters, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 76th minute of the match, Lars Meesters tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Karl-Erik Larsson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With a little luck, SoS FC's Karl-Erik Larsson got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Karl-Erik Larsson firmly grabbed it by the left post. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommy Boylin in the 79th minute of play. After 82 played minutes SoS FC got a freekick which was hit by Christer Bratt. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 85th minute after SoS FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. SoS FC's Karl-Erik Larsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save SoS FC from getting a goal against them. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ingmar Lundqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
