When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gabirel Garantos made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raúl Noriega in the 66th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raúl Noriega in the 67th minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Raúl Noriega made a precise shot to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. In the 73rd minute, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Manuel Loren. After having played for 88 minutes, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wim Wilmes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raúl Noriega, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
