After 8 minutes, Chris Nygaard made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. A.D Atlético Villa Gesell's Raul Jax tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 11th match minute, A.D Atlético Villa Gesell was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Berto to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Nygaard in the 15th minute of play forced A.D Atlético Villa Gesell's goalkeeper Raul Jax to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 17 minutes of play, Denmark's Bertram Svenningsen made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Keld Paulsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Alario, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Denmark's Keld Paulsen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Denmark from getting a goal against them. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Chris Nygaard to strike the kick off in the second half. Keld Paulsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Alario, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Despite being the better team, Denmark failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
