Batman's Binali Kutbay got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonas Nalder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 27 minutes into the match, Batman's goal looked a bit too open when Sandro Galishoff came free, but Tayfur Kiner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Batman's Tayfur Kiner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Nalder in the 41st minute of play. A collision led to Austria getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Rafael Riedl hit a great ball. Mehmet Edip Kemalettin was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 47th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sandro Galishoff stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marvin Harrer hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabio Schneider got free with Tayfur Kiner in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Görkem İlsev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabio Auer having to interfere.
