SILMONT's Marcel Lemahieu quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Qiu Zhi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SILMONT's Qiu Zhi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 8th minute of play. Qiu Zhi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lars Meesters, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martial Haas in the 12th minute of the match. Qiu Zhi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wim Wilmes's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Qiu Zhi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 46 minutes into the game, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Qiu Zhi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Qiu Zhi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 54th minute of the match. The SILMONT players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
