A collision led to Hungary getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Vörös Henrik hit a great ball. The supporters of Corinthians booed when Hungary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Szekeres Tamas didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Fodor Daniel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristiano Messi's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. In the 63rd minute Corinthians were awarded a corner. Natã Pirani went to the cornerflag to take it. Chris Mas was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. With a little luck, Corinthians's Jaime Almeida got control of the ball when Antal Valentin tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Şensoy Sualp fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Corinthians's protests and gave Şensoy Sualp a yellow card for diving instead. Fodor Daniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Messi in the 72nd minute of play. Hungary played a much better game than Corinthians and deserved their victory. The Corinthians players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
