Monitor Huáscar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chiquito Rico was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jens-Ola Eklund stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chiquito Rico's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chiquito Rico in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jens-Ola Eklund saved Avesta from getting behind. Chiquito Rico struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Jens-Ola Eklund didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Monitor Huáscar. In the 33rd minute, Chiquito Rico left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Monitor Huáscar fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. If Chiquito Rico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gelu Băcila in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Apostol Sokolov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Chiquito Rico's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jens-Ola Eklund firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Chiquito Rico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. Monitor Huáscar's Constantino Carabajo was substituted for Bernardinho Bala. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sabin Albu made a kick off. Chiquito Rico's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jens-Ola Eklund read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. In the 57th match minute, Avesta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Radomil Kolacki to maneuver through the defense. Sabin Albu kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Monitor Huáscar fans cheered their team off the field, for while Avesta had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
