The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamin da Fonseca came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeremias Orland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viriato Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benjamin da Fonseca struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Wilson Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pesqueira City. Cristiano Bezerra might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilson Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristiano Bezerra ran back to his position shaking his head. When Sebastião Quintal came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Pesqueira City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastião Quintal couldn't finish the play. In the 13th minute of the match, Benjamin da Fonseca tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Wilson Amorim saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Pesqueira City's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sebastião Quintal in the 14th minute. Wilson Amorim didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Benjamin da Fonseca went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 27 minutes into the match, Pesqueira City's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Jeremias Orland reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Portugal were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after Pesqueira City's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Felipe Barreto took the corner. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Daniel Pimentel got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 1-1. 29 minutes into the match. 34 minutes into the match, Pesqueira City's goal looked a bit too open when Caetano Moreira came free, but Jeremias Orland reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sebastião Quintal got free with Wilson Amorim in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jeremias Orland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 44 minutes into the game, Daniel Pimentel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Jeremias Orland was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Viriato Moura made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Sebastião Quintal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th minute, Thomas Cochrane hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 56 minutes into the game, Pesqueira City's Sebastião Quintal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilson Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. If Benjamin da Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A nice corner shot did that Sebastião Quintal got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Wilson Amorim quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 86th minute, Benjamin da Fonseca left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pesqueira City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. Jeremias Orland was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Bartolomeu Dias showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-3 in the 89 minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Emilio Ramone in the 94th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Portugal's Bruno Bastos. The supporters of Portugal booed when Pesqueira City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Francisco Tande didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pesqueira City's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
