An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Meesters in the 20th minute of play forced Stylus United's goalkeeper Battal Refiğ to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wim Wilmes kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Battal Refiğ made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. In the 70th minute, Carlos Fernando Albuquerque left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Stylus United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Stylus United's Tālis Cam was substituted for Giray Özyurt. With a little luck, Stylus United's Battal Refiğ got control of the ball when Wim Wilmes tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 93rd minute of the match Tālis Cam sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arnout Reekers skillfully saved the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Stylus United fans cheered their team off the field, for while Netherlands had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
