Gianpaolo Mascari made in the 18th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Colognese FC's Silvério Barreto. In the 21st minute Ioan Cocârlă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Porziano Marchitelli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 25 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Rurik Öhlmann came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st minute, Sigfrido Auletta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 45th minute, Sigfrido Auletta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Italy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ruben Casado to strike the kick off in the second half. Flavio Vittori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruben Casado, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Zaccheo Andolina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredinho Carneiro having to interfere. Ioan Cocârlă hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice moves Sigfrido Auletta could shoot a difficult shot in the 70th minute, which Alfredinho Carneiro however easily saved by the left post. Alfredinho Carneiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Porziano Marchitelli in the 72nd minute. After a rather tough play, Colognese FC's Michael Telin got a free kick in the 79th minute. After having played for 81 minutes, Zaccheo Andolina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Italy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zaccheo Andolina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edgard Batista scored 1-1 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Flavio Vittori, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 91 minutes into the match, Colognese FC's goal looked a bit too open when Guiscardo Davide came free, but Alfredinho Carneiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 95 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Juninho Santos came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Italy supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Italy would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
