Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) La Academia's Francisco Alberto Zañartu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match clock showed 3 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Francisco Alberto Zañartu sped through Portugal's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal were awarded a corner in the 9th minute after La Academia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Felipe Barreto took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of La Academia's goalie and right to Caetano Moreira. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. La Academia's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 11 minutes into the game, Felipe Barreto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Iwan Grocholski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Iwan Grocholski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Moura in the 13th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Putra Parios hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Barreto in the 16th minute of play forced La Academia's goalkeeper Iwan Grocholski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iwan Grocholski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 20th match minute, La Academia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Putra Parios to maneuver through the defense. Felipe Barreto might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iwan Grocholski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felipe Barreto ran back to his position shaking his head. Iwan Grocholski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Barreto in the 23rd minute of the match. Iwan Grocholski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caetano Moreira in the 26th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Viriato Moura in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iwan Grocholski saved La Academia from getting behind. In the 39th minute, Caetano Moreira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Portugal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Francisco Alberto Zañartu came free with the goalkeeper in the 42nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Wilson Amorim could save by the left post. Wilson Amorim made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Gong Peng Bo sent off a good shot on target. After 47 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Miranda. In the 50th minute La Academia were awarded a corner. Nemesio Marco went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Maxín Bacarreza heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After the first half Portugal were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Viriato Moura to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Alberto Zañartu in the 55th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saul Goodman kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. If Graciano Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Francisco Alberto Zañartu struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Wilson Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Academia. In the 67th match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felipe Barreto to maneuver through the defense. In the 70th minute, Daniel Pimentel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Alberto Zañartu in the 71st minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gafur Onat kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Raul Caetano hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Raul Caetano got a free kick in the 75th minute. Maxín Bacarreza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 84th minute of the game Putra Parios made a throw-in which Francisco Alberto Zañartu played forward. In the 87th minute Bartolomeu Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iwan Grocholski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iwan Grocholski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipinho Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felipinho Amorim scored 1-3 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Iwan Grocholski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Francisco Alberto Zañartu came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the La Academia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Alberto Zañartu couldn't finish the play. Iwan Grocholski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bartolomeu Dias in the 97th minute. 99 minutes into the match, La Academia's goalkeeper Iwan Grocholski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Graciano Coutinho. The Portugal players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
