Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Viriato Moura started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Allan Corrigan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 6th minute of the match Panionios MK got a corner. Portugal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Argyris Ksagorarakis ran over to the corner to take the kick. Panionios MK's Argyris Ksagorarakis was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Wilson Amorim in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Themos Leontiadis might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilson Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Themos Leontiadis ran back to his position shaking his head. 8 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Themos Leontiadis came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilson Amorim was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Themos Leontiadis showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 10 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Felipe Barreto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alketas Bourouselos was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Themos Leontiadis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilson Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Alketas Bourouselos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Viriato Moura's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. The Portugal fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Portugal's Viriato Moura looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 28 minutes into the match, Felipe Barreto notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Panionios MK's Alketas Bourouselos. Alketas Bourouselos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Themos Leontiadis scored 2-2 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilson Amorim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fanis Salepis kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Allan Corrigan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Wilson Amorim made a huge save. 40 minutes into the match, Panionios MK's Themos Leontiadis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilson Amorim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Portugal's zone, Themos Leontiadis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal and Themos Leontiadis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Themos Leontiadis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wilson Amorim having to make a save. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manel Garrincha in the 55th minute of play. 56 minutes into the game, Allan Corrigan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Wilson Amorim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Argyris Ksagorarakis hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. A sloppy throw-in by Fabricio Andrade in the 64th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Panionios MK's Omiros Maniatis. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allan Corrigan in the 65th minute of play. In the 94th minute of the match, Felipinho Amorim tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alketas Bourouselos saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.
