An unexpectedly hard shot by Caetano Moreira in the 39th minute of play forced Topsail's goalkeeper Bill Carmichael to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Samet Yanık kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Viriato Moura in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bill Carmichael saved Topsail from getting behind. In the 47th minute, Raul Caetano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After having played for 53 minutes, Damião Portela managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Felipe Barreto might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bill Carmichael. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felipe Barreto ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Topsail's Bill Carmichael got control of the ball when Felipe Barreto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sancar Talaş hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. A collision led to Topsail getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Sancar Talaş hit a great ball. Felipe Barreto might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bill Carmichael. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felipe Barreto ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipe Barreto got free with Bill Carmichael in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Samet Yanık kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. 69 minutes into the game, Portugal's Felipinho Amorim nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bill Carmichael made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. 73 minutes into the match, Felipinho Amorim dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Bill Carmichael, 2-2. Bill Carmichael showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caetano Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
