In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Switzerland's goalkeeper Hias Nüssli, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Germán Cano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hias Nüssli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. If Jacinto Maurer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Germán Cano took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Hias Nüssli to make any attempt to save it. After a defensive mix-up in Switzerland's zone, Claudinei Tasso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hias Nüssli came out of the goal and Claudinei Tasso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Germán Cano who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Hias Nüssli when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to 27 de Mayo getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Bebeto Branco hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Switzerland's Leo Allemann got a free kick in the 31st minute. Germán Cano struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Hias Nüssli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 27 de Mayo. 47 minutes into the match, 27 de Mayo's Germán Cano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hias Nüssli narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Samuele Kunz was the one to do the kick off. Hias Nüssli didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Claudinei Tasso went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 63rd minute, Germán Cano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 77 minutes of play, 27 de Mayo's Germán Cano made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hias Nüssli was left in no man's land by his defense there! 82 minutes into the game, 27 de Mayo's Claudinei Tasso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hias Nüssli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. After 89 minutes, Oswaldo Gaúcho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the 27 de Mayo and the Switzerland players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 89 played minutes 27 de Mayo got a freekick which was hit by Oswaldo Gaúcho. 92 minutes into the match, Germán Cano notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Switzerland's Hias Nüssli. Hias Nüssli was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 97 minutes of play 27 de Mayo's Oswaldo Gaúcho was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, 27 de Mayo's Oswaldo Gaúcho got a free kick in the 97th minute. The 27 de Mayo players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
