Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Gijsbert ter Kruimer kicked off to start the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabiano Trabucco got free with Arnout Reekers in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alejo Urtsin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Caleufú's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabiano Trabucco got free with Arnout Reekers in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Caleufú's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a great header on Netherlands's corner, it was just that Caleufú's Alejo Urtsin managed to reach the ball for a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gijsbert ter Kruimer showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. In the 80th minute, Fabiano Trabucco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Alejo Urtsin in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Patricio Rico during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Patricio Rico hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match.
