Jairo Fonseca was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fritz Berghmans might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jairo Fonseca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fritz Berghmans ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 25th minute Fritz Berghmans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jairo Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 25 minutes, Celso de Amaral mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clube Atlético Luziense and the BEST FABIO F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Celso de Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Jairo Fonseca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fritz Berghmans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Clube Atlético Luziense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jairo Fonseca should have stopped the shot. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luciano Rodrigues to strike the kick off in the second half. Vicente Dantas hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match.
