Edvaldo Costa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 28th minute, Erasmo de Godoi reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Melquiades Salvatore. The goal made the score 3-1. In the 31st minute, Jovens Democratas MZC's Erasmo de Godoi ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Melquiades Salvatore. Melquiades Salvatore yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-1. After a rather tough play, Jovens Democratas MZC's Percival Mangueira got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Melquiades Salvatore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Augusto Tinoco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Melquiades Salvatore made an important save on a dangerous shot by Giuseppe Negri in the 44th minute. Club Atlético Atlanta's Melquiades Salvatore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erasmo de Godoi in the 45th minute of play. Club Atlético Atlanta's defense didn't have a chance, in the 46th minute, when Giuseppe Negri scored to the left of an out of position Melquiades Salvatore, making the score, 5-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bonifacio Cresconio made a kick off. Teobaldo Milian hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Melquiades Salvatore made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erasmo de Godoi in the 58th minute of play. The Jovens Democratas MZC fans' excitement grew in the 61st match minute when Jovens Democratas MZC's Jefferson Teixeira looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jovens Democratas MZC's Erasmo Lucas was substituted for Luís Paulo Domingues. Melquiades Salvatore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erasmo de Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Jovens Democratas MZC's Jefferson Teixeira got a free kick in the 68th minute. Jovens Democratas MZC's Célio de Sousa was substituted for Maicon de Amorim. The supporters of Jovens Democratas MZC booed when Club Atlético Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Club Atlético Atlanta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Erasmo de Godoi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-2. If Wilian Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute, Wilian Antunes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Melquiades Salvatore was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-2. In the 93rdth minute of the game Wilian Antunes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Atlético Atlanta's Melquiades Salvatore was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 95th minute, Donato Nalo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute of the match Mário de Queirós shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Melquiades Salvatore showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
