Fausto Gauargi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luciano Rodrigues's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. In the 16th minute, Bernardinho Dante hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juan Laffitte recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pablo Henrico blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jairo Fonseca having to make a save. Jairo Fonseca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ignacio Sabin in the 22nd minute. Clube Atlético Luziense were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after los nadies's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Flavinho Luz took the corner. Geraldo de Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fausto Gauargi having to interfere. When Délio Loyola fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clube Atlético Luziense's protests and gave Délio Loyola a yellow card for diving instead. After 37 played minutes Clube Atlético Luziense got a freekick which was hit by Délio Loyola. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pablo Henrico in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jairo Fonseca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in los nadies's zone, Cristian Urbano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fausto Gauargi came out of the goal and Cristian Urbano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luciano Rodrigues stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Clube Atlético Luziense booed when los nadies was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jude Bellinger didn't get a good kick on the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Ignacio Sabin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jairo Fonseca. Clube Atlético Luziense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ignacio Sabin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Jairo Fonseca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ignacio Sabin, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Celso de Amaral during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 65th minute Pablo Henrico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jairo Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Clube Atlético Luziense defense, Pablo Henrico kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jairo Fonseca. The Clube Atlético Luziense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jairo Fonseca should have stopped the shot. If Juan Laffitte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pablo Henrico in the 77th minute of play forced Clube Atlético Luziense's goalkeeper Jairo Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 78th minute, Juan Laffitte left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The los nadies fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Flavinho Luz was extremely unlucky when he, in the 84th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 87th match minute, Clube Atlético Luziense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurinho Luz to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute, Cenan Ergüven ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jairo Fonseca was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. los nadies's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
