After 18 minutes, Camilo Pino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zorros del Desierto and the Salud y República players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Salud y República booed when Zorros del Desierto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Pino didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Salud y República fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when Salud y República's Neron Companys looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Abelardo Escerza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neron Companys in the 32nd minute of play. After 36 played minutes Zorros del Desierto got a freekick which was hit by Simón Chavez. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Neron Companys stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
