An unexpectedly hard shot by Sungur Rehber in the 43rd minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Sungur Rehber came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sungur Rehber was the one to do the kick off. Nourredine Aggoune showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 55th minute of the match, Wim Wilmes got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nourredine Aggoune was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 56th minute. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Nourredine Aggoune made a huge save. In the 64th minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of FC Ribba's goalie and right to Lars Meesters. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. FC Ribba's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Lars Meesters received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Nourredine Aggoune tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Billy Holm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sungur Rehber in the 95th minute of play. Despite being the better team, Netherlands failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
