The corner ended in Lars Meesters almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but NUMBA's Justo Ruy did a great save. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lars Meesters took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Justo Ruy. Justo Ruy dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 36th minute of play forced NUMBA's goalkeeper Justo Ruy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. After 39 played minutes NUMBA got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Sadurni. Justo Ruy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 40th minute of the match. NUMBA's Justo Ruy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 43rd minute of play. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gijsbert ter Kruimer to strike the kick off in the second half. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. NUMBA's Justo Ruy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save NUMBA from getting a goal against them. Justo Ruy made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 72nd minute. In the 85th minute of the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a very nice opportunity to score, but Justo Ruy was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 87th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Justo Ruy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Justo Ruy made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 90th minute. 92 minutes had been played when some careless play by NUMBA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Justo Ruy in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Gustaaf Groeneveldt came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustaaf Groeneveldt couldn't finish the play. In the 95th minute, Wim Wilmes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Netherlands had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
