Italy's Zaccheo Andolina got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 17th minute of play forced forsal FC's goalkeeper Válter Tasso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Válter Tasso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 20th minute of the match. forsal FC's Válter Tasso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sigfrido Auletta in the 22nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Italy's zone, Attilio Pani stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavio Vittori came out of the goal and Attilio Pani tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zaccheo Andolina in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Válter Tasso saved forsal FC from getting behind. Válter Tasso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 35th minute of play. After some careless play in the forsal FC defense, Zaccheo Andolina kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Válter Tasso. The forsal FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Válter Tasso should have stopped the shot. After having played for 46 minutes, Siricio Liotta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Italy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Siricio Liotta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Válter Tasso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Siricio Liotta in the 46th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Attilio Pani to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Zaccheo Andolina took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Válter Tasso to make any attempt to save it. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Attilio Pani in the 55th minute of play. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Italy's Zaccheo Andolina in the 82nd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Válter Tasso was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for forsal FC through an amazing save. Válter Tasso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Siricio Liotta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 90 minutes into the match, forsal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sigfrido Auletta came free, but Válter Tasso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Italy made a substitution. Sansone Vanella replaced Gianpaolo Mascari. Italy's Guiscardo Davide was substituted for Sigfrido Auletta. Adriano Curto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Válter Tasso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play.
