When Felipe Barreto came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Portugal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felipe Barreto couldn't finish the play. Amancio Casado hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Portugal's Albérico Bernardes threw himself towards the right post 66 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Daniel Pimentel, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
