El Imperio del Cuervo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Frank Sachs's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Remigio Petrigai read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Emanuel Hjelms short, quick shot in the 39thth minute got Tommy Kahn to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Ermegildo Perez fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Imperio del Cuervo's protests and gave Ermegildo Perez a yellow card for diving instead. 42 minutes into the match, Germany's Frank Sachs sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Remigio Petrigai narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
