Niculae Dănășel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bertram Svenningsen, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. In the 6th minute, Alex Team's Clodoveo Hanot dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Ilie Baican kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Ştefan Ghiorman charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ştefan Ghiorman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Alex Team getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Ştefan Ghiorman hit a great ball. In the 13th minute, Zbyszko Falkiewicz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute of the match Chris Nygaard sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Niculae Dănășel skillfully saved the ball. Alex Team's Niculae Dănășel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Nygaard in the 16th minute of play. If Chris Nygaard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bertram Svenningsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niculae Dănășel having to interfere. After some careless play in the Alex Team defense, Chris Nygaard kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Niculae Dănășel. The Alex Team fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Niculae Dănășel should have stopped the shot. Luca Banu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keld Paulsen having to interfere. Ştefan Ghiorman hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Alex Team's Clodoveo Hanot got a free kick in the 34th minute. The throw-in from Gigi Ciuhandu in the 38th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Denmark's Simon Bendtsen. Niculae Dănășel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chris Nygaard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Virgil Gane got free with Keld Paulsen in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 40 played minutes Virgil Gane could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 2-1 into the left cross. After a defensive mix-up in Alex Team's zone, Chris Nygaard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Niculae Dănășel came out of the goal and Chris Nygaard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Clodoveo Hanot made in the 46th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Denmark's Simon Bendtsen. A collision led to Denmark getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Chris Nygaard hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

After having played for 54 minutes, Virgil Gane managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alex Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Virgil Gane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ilie Baican kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Mikkel Wulff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niculae Dănășel having to interfere. Luca Banu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Keld Paulsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Denmark defense, Virgil Gane kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Keld Paulsen. The Denmark fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Keld Paulsen should have stopped the shot. Denmark's Chris Nygaard got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A sloppy throw-in by Clodoveo Hanot in the 82nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Denmark's Simon Bendtsen. Chris Nygaard could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Niculae Dănășel made a huge save. The supporters of Alex Team booed when Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olav Graversen didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Alex Team were victorious despite being under pressure from Denmark for much of the match.
