After 4 minutes, Gerard Kok mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zijdewind SC and the Switzerland players grew even worse after the yellow card. Zijdewind SC's Christijan Booy suffered a sore thigh after 9 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Rodrigo von Känel fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Switzerland's protests and gave Rodrigo von Känel a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th minute, Rodrigo von Känel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zijdewind SC's Ferdi Dekens came free and shot a quick shot against goal 13 minutes in the game, fortunately Hias Nüssli had problems saving as it came toward the left post. After 17 played minutes Switzerland got a freekick which was hit by Rodrigo von Känel. In the 17th minute of the match Jan ter Averst shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hias Nüssli showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Switzerland's goal looked a bit too open when Damien Schimmel came free, but Hias Nüssli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Samuele Kunz struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Luuk Meppelink didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Switzerland. Hias Nüssli made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Ferdi Dekens sent off a good shot on target. Damien Schimmel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hias Nüssli having to interfere. A collision led to Zijdewind SC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Damien Schimmel hit a great ball. When Rodrigo von Känel came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Switzerland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo von Känel couldn't finish the play. When Daniël De Leeuw fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zijdewind SC's protests and gave Daniël De Leeuw a yellow card for diving instead. In the 35th minute, Daniël De Leeuw hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Ben Oude Kamphuis's late challenge caught a Switzerland's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Switzerland's Hias Nüssli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damien Schimmel in the 81st minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Switzerland's Jacinto Maurer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luuk Meppelink narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 94th match minute, Switzerland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodrigo von Känel to maneuver through the defense. Zijdewind SC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Switzerland had controlled the match.
