The audience was convinced that Jon Rudqvist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sean Deaton was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Jon Rudqvist sped through Nomads Football Club's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sean Deaton. After a rather tough play, SJÖARED's Marcus Berggren got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 26th match minute, Nomads Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renaldo Barth to maneuver through the defense. Sean Deaton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jon Rudqvist in the 28th minute of play. After 37 minutes of play, Nomads Football Club's Trey Marino made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Egon Pihlwall was left in no man's land by his defense there! Egon Pihlwall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frankie Le Van, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. If Jon Rudqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

51 minutes into the match, Frankie Le Van notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of SJÖARED's Egon Pihlwall. Egon Pihlwall was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jon Rudqvist in the 55th minute of play forced Nomads Football Club's goalkeeper Sean Deaton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 56 minutes into the game, Renaldo Barth was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nomads Football Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SJÖARED the free kick. After 56 played minutes Nomads Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Renaldo Barth. 69 minutes into the match, Nomads Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Jon Rudqvist came free, but Sean Deaton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Allan Fastesson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Sean Deaton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Trey Marino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SJÖARED's Egon Pihlwall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trey Marino in the 76th minute of play. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sean Deaton showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 81 played minutes Nomads Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Renaldo Barth. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frankie Le Van got free with Egon Pihlwall in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trey Marino in the 89th minute of play forced SJÖARED's goalkeeper Egon Pihlwall to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The SJÖARED manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Nomads Football Club to win.
