Mathijn Doctor kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Vélez Juniors's Arnout Reekers threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Benicio Rivas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 29th minute of play. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Tiburcio Quinteros tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 32 minutes, Donato Efraim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vélez Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Donato Efraim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gijsbert ter Kruimer to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Elpidio Vitin in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Vélez Juniors's Cristian Naike. But to his dismay, Cristian Naike quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Vélez Juniors from getting a goal against them. Elpidio Vitin was a little too slow when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 3-2. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiburcio Quinteros in the 62nd minute of the match. 62 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Tiburcio Quinteros came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Vélez Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celedonio Eriz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Roland, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elvio Checa in the 80th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Wim Wilmes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elpidio Vitin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elpidio Vitin was a little too slow when Wim Wilmes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 90th minute. The score was now 3-3. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elvio Checa, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. In the 96th minute, Benigno Gurutz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
