In the 5th minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kajetan Dec saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Italy's Siricio Liotta managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Lucjan Bochinski in the 31 minute of the game. Zawisza Bydgoszcz's Kajetan Dec played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 44th minute of play. Sigfrido Auletta struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Kajetan Dec didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Italy. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zaccheo Andolina made a kick off. Lucjan Bochinski made in the 53rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Italy's Siricio Liotta. Ömer Halisdemir took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flavio Vittori. Flavio Vittori dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 64th minute of play forced Zawisza Bydgoszcz's goalkeeper Kajetan Dec to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The throw-in from Lucjan Bochinski in the 69th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Italy's Siricio Liotta. After having played for 72 minutes, Sixten Gernberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zawisza Bydgoszcz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sixten Gernberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Porziano Marchitelli got free with Kajetan Dec in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Italy were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after Zawisza Bydgoszcz's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sigfrido Auletta took the corner. 80 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Ömer Halisdemir came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 82nd minute of the match, Siricio Liotta tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kajetan Dec saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Zawisza Bydgoszcz's Răzvan Brădean was substituted for Ömer Halisdemir. Italy's Guiscardo Davide was substituted for Sigfrido Auletta. Italy made a substitution. Adriano Curto replaced Zaccheo Andolina. Italy were awarded a corner in the 85th minute after Zawisza Bydgoszcz's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Siricio Liotta took the corner. 90 minutes into the match, Zawisza Bydgoszcz's goalkeeper Kajetan Dec had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guiscardo Davide. Kajetan Dec made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Adriano Curto sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 93 minutes, Răzvan Brădean managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zawisza Bydgoszcz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Răzvan Brădean was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Many of Italy's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Italy may have spent more time on the ball, but Zawisza Bydgoszcz were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
