Washington Lira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. In the 31st minute DENVER™ were awarded a corner. Dráusio Garcia went to the cornerflag to take it. DENVER™'s Nico Furlan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 33rd minute of play. Denver Ponta hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Nico Furlan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 35th minute of play. If Washington Lira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nico Furlan came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Wim Wilmes. But to his dismay, Wim Wilmes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. DENVER™'s Nico Furlan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 42nd minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Nico Furlan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 48th minute of the match. The DENVER™ players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Netherlands were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Washington Lira to make the kick off. The supporters of DENVER™ booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gust Ennemans didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 54th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nico Furlan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Netherlands's Nico Furlan threw himself towards the right post 56 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Wim Wilmes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 59th minute, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nico Furlan. Nico Furlan yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Gust Ennemans made in the 64th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by DENVER™'s Victor Batista. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Nico Furlan firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 76th minute, Lars Meesters hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. DENVER™'s Délio Campidelis was substituted for Washington Lira. An unexpectedly hard shot by Délio Campidelis in the 78th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Délio Campidelis in the 78th minute of play. DENVER™'s Nico Furlan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save DENVER™ from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Wim Wilmes put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Nico Furlan. Nico Furlan made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. Netherlands played a much better game than DENVER™ and deserved their victory. The DENVER™ players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
