A beautiful save bye Leeds United's goalie prevented a goal. 宋辉星 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albin Holweck, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Adrian Dreifuss kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. 江希宽 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 19 minutes into the match, Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adriano Contratas. Leeds United's Adriano Contratas got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 江希宽 in the 23rd minute of the match. After having played for 28 minutes, 江希宽 managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leeds United's supporters crossed their fingers, but 江希宽 was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 傅正海 made in the 35th minute of the game a quick throw-in and 李镇庭 immediately put the ball in play. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, 江希宽 managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leeds United's supporters rose to their feet, but 江希宽 was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Kahn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Malte Schiele kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. 江希宽 struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Tommy Kahn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leeds United. Adriano Contratas came free with the goalkeeper in the 44th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Tommy Kahn could save by the left post.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adriano Contratas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, 江希宽 managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Germany's Frank Sachs got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Adriano Contratas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. Adrian Dreifuss's late challenge caught a Leeds United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
